The awards to the pair were complemented by a trio of England players, James Anderson, Alastair Cook and Graeme Swann, all being named in the ICC’s Test Team of the Year and Anderson also winning a place in the ICC’s ODI Team of the Year.
Kettleborough, the former Yorkshire and Middlesex batsman, becomes the first English umpire to win the ICC’s Umpire of the Year award. A First Class Umpire since 2006, the 40-year-old was appointed to the ICC’s International Umpiring Panel in 2009 and its Elite Panel two years later.
Wicketkeeper batswoman Taylor landed the ICC’s T20I Women’s Cricketer of the Year award for the second year in a row – rounding off an outstanding year for her which included a starring role in England Women’s Ashes triumph earlier this summer.
ECB Chief Executive David Collier said: “I would like to congratulate Richard, Sarah and our three England Men’s Players on their outstanding achievements – which reflect great credit on our international teams and, in Richard’s case, the high standard of umpiring in our domestic First Class game. “
Commenting on the award to Sarah Taylor, ECB’s Head of England Women’s Cricket Clare Connor added: "For Sarah to win this award for a second year running demonstrates her dominance as a T20 batsman on the world stage. She has played some incredibly entertaining and skilful innings at number three for England over the last twelve months and we look forward to seeing further outstanding performances from her when we take on Australia in the Women’s Ashes next month.”
